Please respect other users. Not everyone is as hardcore or all-knowing as you. Actually, none of us are, even you. Use common sense when you post, and treat others like you would want to be treated yourself.

When you post a scale, look at how the sample scales are posted and follow their lead. Having the number 8 as last character before closing paranthesis ")" can be a little problem, it converts into a smiley as default. If you disable smilies in your post (checkbox underneath your editing window) the 8) will not convert into a smiley and can be copied and pasted as usual.

Should you forget to disable smilies, just edit your post and disable them afterwards. And if you come across a post where the poster forgot to do that, don't start flaming (see note on common sense above). If the moderators come across such a post, they can edit the Options to disable them.

The fact that the smilies are available at is John Cleese's fault. He has showed me that with internet communication we lose an important part in our conversations. Expression. Without a way to show that a comment was meant as "fun" or "tease" or whatever, we add smilies.

Simple stuff.
