I have found that for feral druids you NEED two scales... one for bear and one for cat. The reason is they have completely different mechanics and purposes in a group. my scales that I have found quite effective:

( Pawn: v1: "Druid: Feral - Bear": IsWand=-9999, DefenseRating=0.71, ResilienceRating=1, IsAxe=-9999, ShadowResist=0.5, ExpertiseRating=0.42, IsThrown=-9999, Armor=0.225, Stamina=1.21, IsPolearm=-9999, IsGun=-9999, Hp5=0.5, RedSocket=11.48, DodgeRating=0.74, Health=0.07, IsBow=-9999, MetaSocket=21.7, IsSword=-9999, IsCrossbow=-9999, AllResist=1, BlueSocket=14.46, FireResist=0.5, YellowSocket=10.07, Strength=1.06 )

( Pawn: v1: "Druid: Feral - Cat": IsWand=-9999, CritRating=1.07, IsAxe=-9999, YellowSocket=9.24, FeralAp=0.69, Stamina=0.05, Hp5=0.5, ResilienceRating=1, HitRating=1.02, ShadowResist=0.5, ExpertiseRating=1, Armor=0.1, IsCrossbow=-9999, IsGun=-9999, IsPolearm=-9999, IsThrown=-9999, ArmorPenetration=0.15, RedSocket=13.29, IsSword=-9999, IsBow=-9999, Strength=1.24, MetaSocket=27.58, FeralRating=0.492, HasteRating=0.84, AllResist=1, BlueSocket=6.64, FireResist=0.5, Agility=1.66, Ap=0.69 )

Good cats don't need armor or stamina as much, and good bears don't do dps so much.

However, at lower levels, say below 30 or so, (or for the lazy person who doesn't want 2 sets) Here is a generic scale that basically takes the average:

( Pawn: v1: "Druid: Feral": FeralAp=0.344, ResilienceRating=1, Agility=1.36, ExpertiseRating=0.71, IsCrossbow=-9999, IsPolearm=-9999, IsThrown=-9999, ArmorPenetration=0.075, IsBow=-9999, Strength=0.62, MetaSocket=24.64, Health=0.03, Hp5=0.5, Ap=0.344, IsWand=-9999, CritRating=0.53, HasteRating=0.42, DefenseRating=0.355, IsGun=-9999, RedSocket=12.39, YellowSocket=9.65, IsAxe=-9999, Stamina=0.63, IsSword=-9999, Armor=0.15, HitRating=0.51, DodgeRating=0.373, BlueSocket=10.55, FireResist=0.5, AllResist=1, ShadowResist=0.5 )

Any comments are welcome. Also check out my resto and balance scales in the other threads.

thank you very much for the reply vordak,
i have read through what you have put and found it useful.
i think i understand
so when i am in bear form i use the mitigation scale and when i get cat form (only lvl 16 at mo) i would then use the cat form one.
as i said "thanks for the help" and i hope i have understood rite. :D

Just updated the above scales to reflect further real-world testing. Also added a negative value to all weapons druids can't use.

It's worth noting that in my personal version I hacked the lua file so that the armor types are included in my scales, and assigned a negative value to shield, plate, and mail. That way you can't get distracted by high values on a great plate helm, for example. But since I'm the only one in the world with that version of Pawn (tee hee) I edited those out of my scales pasted here.

Also, my scales are purposefully balanced so that at level 50, an extremely well geared player will have a total value of roughly 500. Naturally the scale won't be linear and by level 60 it'll be 700-800, but it's a basis for comparison nonetheless.

The reason I had Bear dps in there was to measure threat gain from items (not that your dpsing in bear) but not having that as part of the mitigation factor. I also thought I had posted the cat stats but must have missed it. Those stat weightings were taken from Emmeralds list and I just converted them to pawn format for here.
