It would be nice to have a feral attack power category or at least a proper way of calculating it through other categories. Taking the original value you would have assigned FAP, dividing it by 14 and plugging it into Melee DPS does not work, unfortunatley.

For example, say I wanted to value FAP at 4 points. The Enraged Feral Staff grants 1604 FAP, which would then equal 6416 points. Taking the Melee DPS of this weapon at 169.4 and multiplying by 4/14 equals 48.4 points. Definitely not equal.

The problem arises from the fact that for every 1 point of DPS a weapon has AFTER 58.4(?), 14 points of FAP are generated. So either a true FAP category is needed, or a DPS baseline stat, much like the one that already exists for weapon speed.

Cheers,

Feral AP went away as a stat in Pawn because it went away as an item stat. There are no items with feral AP on them; weapons that have more than 55 DPS simply grant AP to druids when they're in feral forms. That's the reason that feral AP doesn't show up on items when non-druids are looking at them: it's not actually there.

The math in your example is incorrect; the DPS x 14 calculation works just fine. Take the DPS and multiply by 4 * 14, not 4 / 14. You get a higher number (because you're also valuing that baseline 55 DPS), but all feral weapons will get that higher number. The point value is not what matters; it's the difference in the point value between one weapon and another, and if you assign a value to DPS, you'll get the same differences in item value as you would if feral AP existed as a stat and you assigned a value to it.

That said, this seems to be confusing a lot of people, so I'll probably add a new option so that people can assign a value to feral AP like they used to.

FAP = (DPS - 55) *14
DPS = FAP/14 + 55

The only problem I have with using the straight multiplication system is that it ends up overvaluing DPS over straight AP. I would appreciate some way to value Feral AP and AP equally, which with the current setup is very difficult to do.

If your value for attack power is 14x your value for weapon DPS, and you're comparing two weapons with at least 55 DPS, then AP and DPS will be valued properly in the current version of Pawn. If two weapons are identical except one has 10.0 more DPS than the other, and the other has 140 more attack power, they are exactly equivalent, and if you've set up your AP and DPS values as suggested, they'll have exactly the same value.
